Today, I learned that my employer, Carlex Glass America, is closing its Tennessee plant. Despite being recognized as Supplier of the Year, it seems we are not so lucky when it comes to job security. The news hit hard, especially since I’ve been working here for several years. I’m still processing the impact this will have on my team and myself. Some comments I’ve seen suggest that the company is just relocating to Nashville, but that doesn’t ease the uncertainty for those of us who might not be moving with them. I’ll need to start looking for new opportunities soon.
