Seeking advice on leveling up in Sales or transitioning to Recruiting in India

I've been in the job market for a while now, with over 7 years of experience in Sales and Supply Chain across India and Canada. Currently based in Vadodara, I'm finding it really challenging to secure a role that feels like a step up from where I am. Most of the interviews I've had either don’t align with my level of experience, or I simply don’t hear back after applying. I'm also considering a pivot into recruiting, but I'm unsure if that's a wise move or if I'm just overthinking it. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has successfully leveled up or switched fields and can share how they got recruiters to take their diverse experience seriously. Do referrals actually make a significant difference compared to cold applications? Is transitioning from sales to recruiting a realistic option, or could it potentially set me back in my career? I'm also curious about any insights regarding the job market in India for 2026. I appreciate any blunt feedback or advice!
