I recently discovered an issue with my effective date on the company portal. I started working at my current company in 2013, and after an acquisition in 2023, I transitioned to a new role in a different department around August 2023. However, the portal incorrectly lists my effective date for this new position as March 2024. I've reached out to HR for clarification but haven't heard back yet. The timing is crucial because I have an offer letter coming in soon and might receive a second offer next week. My resume states that I began this current position in 2023, but the six-month discrepancy is concerning. I'm worried that this might affect my background check or raise questions during the hiring process. I don't have substantial proof of my start date other than a salary increase, and my previous title as Facilities Manager is now listed as "Maintenance & Supplies" on the portal. I'm anxious about how to handle this if HR doesn't correct it. Any advice on how to navigate this situation would be greatly appreciated.
