I'm currently navigating a tricky situation in my job search. I've been verbally told that I'm getting a written offer from Company A, which is my top choice, but there have been some delays. Now, it looks like I might receive an offer from Company B soon. While the role at Company B isn't bad, the opportunity at Company A is significantly better in almost every aspect. If I do get the offer from Company B, my plan is to express my interest and request a few days to review the offer letter. This would give me a little time to see if Company A can speed up their process. However, I know that I'll eventually need to inform Company A about the other offer to encourage them to act faster. I'm grappling with the idea of accepting the offer from Company B just to secure something, even though I might back out if Company A comes through. I understand that this could burn bridges with Company B, which I want to avoid, but I'm feeling the pressure to ensure I have a job lined up. Some people say to prioritize my own interests since companies often don't consider individual circumstances. I'm looking for advice on how to handle this situation without jeopardizing my professional relationships.
