I’ve been reflecting on my job search journey lately, particularly the challenges I face in the current tech job market. It seems like everyone is saying how saturated and tough it is right now. For me, the hardest part has definitely been crafting my resume. I’ve spent countless hours tweaking it, trying to make it ATS-friendly, but I still feel like it’s missing something crucial. I’ve also noticed that the interview process has become incredibly daunting. I’ve heard from others that they’ve had to go through five rounds of interviews only to receive a rejection, which is really disheartening. It makes me question if I want to continue pursuing tech roles, especially when I see entry-level positions requiring extensive qualifications and experience. It’s frustrating to apply for jobs that pay a meager wage in a high cost of living area, only to compete against candidates who are overqualified because they were laid off. I’d love to hear from others about what they find most challenging in their job search. Is it the resume, the applications, or the follow-ups? What strategies have you found helpful?
