I had a job interview last week on Monday for a position I was really excited about. I felt it went well and was optimistic when I asked HR about the timeline for feedback. They mentioned that they conduct an extensive background check and that I should hear back soon. However, it’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything yet. They haven’t reached out to my references or provided any updates. I’m starting to feel anxious and wonder if I should assume that I didn’t get the job. I’ve been advised to be patient, as they might be busy with other candidates, but it’s hard not to worry. In the meantime, I’m planning to keep applying to other opportunities.
