Navigating challenges in my new hourly job amidst inconsistent management expectations

I recently started a new hourly job at a company after spending many years in salaried positions. At 52, I thought this change would be a fresh start, but I'm finding it challenging due to my manager's inconsistent expectations. I always arrive on time, stay at my desk, and rarely take breaks, yet my manager has questioned my 30-minute lunch breaks without providing any specific reasons. The only time I exceeded my lunch was by 15 minutes for a virtual health appointment, which I made up later. When I asked if my lack of breaks was an issue, she said it wouldn’t matter even if I took them. Meanwhile, a coworker who frequently comes in late and leaves early seems to escape scrutiny, which is frustrating. I understand that there might be private discussions happening, but the disparity in treatment is hard to ignore. Additionally, there have been changes regarding my birthday off and the ability to work from home on Fridays. Initially, I was told I could take my birthday off, but that changed, and I was informed I needed to be onsite until my 90-day mark for training purposes. However, there have been Fridays when neither my manager nor my trainer was present, and I was left alone. I genuinely like the company and want to succeed, but the shifting expectations and constant scrutiny are making it hard to focus on learning my role. I'm considering whether to document everything and clarify expectations in writing to my manager, but I'm worried that this might backfire since I'm still new. I also feel stuck in my situation and am contemplating looking for a new role, but my age makes me feel limited in options. It’s disheartening to learn that others have left the team due to her management style, and I’m starting to feel the weight of this environment myself.
