I'm a 20-year-old female currently searching for an entry-level office job, specifically in receptionist or front desk roles. I believe this would be a great way to start my professional career and build essential skills like organization, professional communication, and data management. My background includes retail experience at Aeropostale and a Walmart-like store, as well as working in fast food, which has helped me develop strong customer service skills. However, I lack formal office experience, which is why I'm focusing on entry-level positions. I've been told to dress professionally and visit businesses directly, but that hasn't yielded results for me. I've also been exploring job listings on Indeed, but it feels like there's not much available. I'm considering getting my insurance license, as I'm studying Psychology in college and think it could be a valuable asset. I’m open to suggestions on the types of jobs I should pursue and the best approach to take in my job search.
