Applied for a Dream Healthcare Role After 30 Years of Experience

I recently applied for a job that feels like the culmination of my 30-year career. The position is in healthcare, and after reviewing the job description, I realized that I meet every single skill and experience requirement listed. My background spans various roles in the non-profit and public sectors, each providing me with valuable executive-level experience that I believe would make me a strong candidate for this role. I submitted my resume two weeks ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet, which has left me feeling anxious. I’m torn about whether I should follow up with the employer via email or phone to check on the status of my application. I do have a couple of other interviews lined up for next week, but none of those opportunities excite me as much as this healthcare position does. I’m seeking advice on whether it’s better to be patient and wait for a response or to take the initiative and reach out. I appreciate any insights on the pros and cons of each approach.
