I was recently terminated from my role at a customer service company, and I'm trying to make sense of the whole situation. My performance had been solid, with a review in November 2025 that met expectations and a raise starting in 2026. Up until late January 2026, I had no attendance issues or major call handling problems. However, I received a corrective action (CA) in mid-January 2026, which cited issues with call handling and documentation. This was based on a call from mid-2025 that I had already been verbally coached on, and I had even received a positive performance evaluation afterward. I was promised daily check-ins, side-by-side monitoring, and weekly progress reviews, but none of that materialized. Things took a turn for the worse in late February 2026 after I faced a mental health crisis and decided to stop drinking. I had a no call no show and sent an emotional message to my manager, which I later retracted. HR was aware of my situation. The second CA again referenced call handling and attendance issues, including a same-day vacation that had been approved but was used against me. I had also been experiencing laptop issues, but my ISP confirmed my internet was fine, and I was using a VPN to connect to the company's servers. Despite my requests for support and monitoring, nothing was implemented. Before the first CA, I had expressed concerns to HR about tension with management and asked about transferring departments. Shortly after, I received the first CA. It felt like they were looking for reasons to block my transfer. In mid-March 2026, I was terminated. The first CA stated I would have 60 days to improve, while the second said 30 days, but I wasn't informed of that until early March, and I was let go just two weeks later, before I could even fully utilize the improvement period. I'm left feeling confused about the inconsistencies in my situation. I had been a go-to person in my department, and now my financial situation is in turmoil. I'm seeking advice on whether this sequence of events is typical or if it suggests something more concerning.
