I'm currently anticipating a layoff within the next 18 months. At 66 years old, I've been applying for jobs, but it feels like my age is a barrier—I've noticed that many companies seem to avoid hiring someone my age. While I can manage the financial aspects of a potential layoff, my primary concern is healthcare. I have a wife and three kids who rely on it. I know I could transition to Medicare, but that wouldn't cover their needs. I'm reaching out to see how others have handled healthcare after being laid off.
