Since the beginning of the year, the State of North Carolina has been the site of layoffs for ABB Inc., Tristone Flowtech USA Inc., SODEXO, Global Brands Group, and Emerson Automation Solutions. Several other companies have laid off or are gearing up for layoffs in North Carolina in the months to come. Sonoco Wilson Plastics permanently laid off 138 workers on September 30 at its 2540 Wilco Boulevard S Wilson, North Carolina facility.
IQVIA submitted a WARN confirming it would be laying off 232 workers in Durham, North Carolina. The company will be permanently closing its 4820 Emperor Boulevard facility on October 10, 2021. Finally, Chip Ganassi Racing will be permanently laying off 55 workers in Concord, North Carolina. The permanent layoff will be effective on November 7, 2021.
