Bornstein Seafoods and Aspen ML LLC laying off workers in Oregon

Bornstein Seafoods submitted a WARN with the Oregon Rapid Response Coordinator saying it would be permanently closing its Newport facility at 813 Southeast Bay Boulevard. The company expects the facility to close on May 21, 2024. The entire facility will close and all workers at the facility will be permanently laid off. The employee separations are also expected to take place on May 21, 2024.

The impacted workers are not represented by a union and will not have access to bumping rights. 40 of the workers are General Labors. In total, 50 workers will be laid off. Aspen ML LLC also submitted a WARN saying it would carry out a mass layoff at its Tigard facility at 13190 Southwest 68th Parkway Suite 110.

It is believed that the first separation will occur on May 31, 2024. The layoffs should be completed by August 31, 2024. The location will not be closing. In total, 95 workers will be impacted.
