Resolute Forest Products To Lay Off 350 Workers In February 2022 In Calhoun, Tennessee
Resolute Forest Products has informed the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development that it will be permanently laying off workers in February 2022. The company filed a WARN with the agency’s Dislocated Worker Unit on December 17, 2021, confirming the permanent layoff. The layoff is scheduled to begin on February 12, 2022, or within 14 days of that date. The layoff is being blamed on the discontinuance of the pulp and paper operations at the facility.
In total, the company expects to lay off 350 workers at its Calhoun, Tennessee plant which is located at 5020 Highway 11 South. The workers are represented by a collective bargaining agreement so bumping rights may be available. Additional details can be found in the WARN here.
