I am currently facing a frustrating situation with my former boss regarding unpaid wages. I worked at a nail salon where the pay was decent, but the environment was toxic and unprofessional. After three weeks of trying to reach out to her, she is refusing to pay me the remainder of my final paycheck. I quit without notice in early June and moved to Central Florida because I couldn't stand the toxic atmosphere in South Florida any longer. During my time there, my boss had a habit of paying employees late, often using personal financial issues as excuses. When I left, she was already behind on two checks. I informed her via text about the outstanding payments, but she has ignored my messages and denied owing me the full amount I documented. Despite having proof of my work and the checks she issued, she only sent a fraction of what she owes me and continues to argue that I am lying. I feel like she's walking away with my hard-earned money, and I need guidance on how to proceed with this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
