My current employer has been using my nickname as my legal name on documents for over a year, including my W2. I know my social security number is correct, but I'm concerned that this nickname mismatch might cause issues during the background check. I'm planning to list my legal name on the screening form and will include my nickname as an alias. I'm just not sure if the background check company will have trouble verifying my current employment due to this discrepancy. Any advice or thoughts from others who have been in a similar situation would be greatly appreciated!
