I recently experienced a mass layoff at my job with an American multinational company. I was laid off right after returning from a protected medical leave due to a disability, which has left me wondering about my severance package. I'm considering whether there's any room for negotiation, especially if I involve a lawyer. I've heard mixed experiences from others; one person mentioned they successfully negotiated repatriation without a lawyer, just by appealing to decency.
