  1. 1

I started a new job three weeks ago, and I’m feeling really overwhelmed with anxiety about it. Before this, I worked at a company where the environment turned toxic, and although my manager and I didn’t get along well, I had a great bond with my colleagues. Leaving them was tough, and I realized I stayed longer than I should have because of those friendships. Eventually, we all agreed it was time to move on, but I was worried about finding a job that suited me since I didn’t have much experience. I accepted a position that seemed good for my CV, even though I wasn’t sure it was the right fit. After signing the contract, I started feeling anxious and panicked about my decision. I thought things might improve once I started, but now, three weeks in, I still don’t feel like I fit in with my new colleagues. They are nice, but I miss the connection I had with my old coworkers. I know building relationships takes time, but I feel really isolated. The job itself is challenging, and I often feel like I’m expected to know things I’ve forgotten. At my previous job, I was confident and understood everything, but now I feel lost and that heightens my anxiety. I keep questioning my abilities and whether I made the wrong choice. Almost every day, I dread going back to work, but I don’t have other job options right now, which makes me feel trapped. I keep comparing this new role to my old one, and while I know no job is perfect, this one just feels off. I’m overwhelmed and could really use some advice from anyone who’s been in a similar situation. Should I give it more time or start looking for something else, even without another job lined up? How do I know if I’m just adjusting or if this job truly isn’t right for me?
