I was working at a mid-sized tech company when our physical office was closed, forcing us to transition to remote work. The office was considered a satellite location compared to our main hub, which affected the way management handled the situation. After the closure, I stayed remote for about 6 months before I was laid off. During that time, I noticed a significant shift in communication and project priorities, which made it clear that the company was struggling. I had heard from colleagues that some offices had longer timelines before layoffs, with one person sharing they managed to stay for 18 months before their layoff, while another was let go just 3 months after going remote. It was a tough experience, and I’m curious to hear more stories from others who faced similar circumstances.
