I’ve been working as a truck driver for my company, and about five weeks ago, I expressed my need to transition to a part-time position due to personal reasons, specifically the passing of my dad and the need for more flexibility during the probate process. The company assured me that it wouldn’t be a problem, but they needed to find a replacement first. It’s been frustrating because it’s not like we’re looking for someone with specialized skills; truck driving requires a CDL, which is quite common. I can’t help but feel like they’re dragging their feet on this, and I worry they’ll delay things long enough for me to either quit or feel stuck in my full-time role, even though I know I’m one of the more reliable drivers on the team.
