I was laid off today after 5.5 years in my role, and this is actually the second time I've faced a layoff this year. It's been a confusing time for me as I'm now receiving job offers that are lower than my current salary. My technical skills include Django, Next.js, Go, AWS, Node.js, and blockchain, but I'm considering taking 1-2 months to learn new skills that are more aligned with the current job market. I've never been serious about data structures and algorithms (DSA), and I'm wondering if it's worth investing time in that now, or if I should focus on trending areas like Generative AI or data science. I'd really appreciate any advice from those who have gone through similar experiences or are currently hiring. Thanks in advance for your help!
