I recently had a shocking experience at my job as a receptionist at a facial spa where I've been working for about a month and a half. Everything seemed to be going well, and during my last check-in, my supervisor even praised my performance. However, out of the blue, I received a call from the manager of another department, along with the district manager, who informed me that there had been several complaints against me that required compensation from the business. I was completely blindsided. I've worked in customer service for years and have always known the reasons behind any complaints I've received. When I asked for details about these complaints, the manager mentioned that she had witnessed one incident and believed I handled it well, but she didn't know about the others. As they pressed me with leading questions, it felt like they were trying to get me to agree that I didn't belong there. To my disbelief, they revealed that there were a total of nine complaints against me from just the past week. This felt excessive and suspicious, especially since the owner had been present and never noted any issues. They acknowledged that this was out of character for me and promised to review the situation. I can't shake the feeling that something is off. I'm worried that I might be fired soon, and I'm considering several possibilities for why this is happening, including my recent request for more hours, my job applications elsewhere, or even the possibility that a coworker might have fabricated complaints. I'm also the only openly gay person on the staff, which adds another layer of concern. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has faced a similar situation and can offer insights or advice.
