I recently applied for a job and saw that my status is listed as 'under consideration' on their website. I've heard that calling to ask for updates can demonstrate my eagerness and potentially improve my chances of getting hired. However, I haven't had an interview yet, so I'm unsure if it's appropriate to reach out at this stage. I'm contemplating whether I should call them and what I should say or ask if I do. Some advice I've received suggests that 'under consideration' only means my resume has passed the initial HR screening and that it might not be the best time to call. I'm feeling a bit stuck on what to do next.
