    I recently had an initial interview for a position and was asked to provide two references. I sent the reference emails to HR on Thursday, and they reached out to my references the same day. One of my references responded quickly, but the other has been saying they will respond soon but hasn't done so yet. It's only been a couple of days, but I'm starting to worry that the delay might affect my chances with the employer. I know HR typically expects references to take a few business days, but I don't want to nag my reference too much. Is it reasonable to think that if my second reference replies by Tuesday, that would still be acceptable?
