I've been working at my current job for three years now, and the commute has become increasingly challenging. I live 32 miles away from the office, which was manageable when I had two work-from-home days. However, due to new federal regulations, I'm now required to be in the office every day. This change has taken a toll on my car, and I'm worried about its reliability. I can't afford to buy a new car or even a junker, and the thought of relying on Uber, which would cost me around $70 one way, is daunting. Public transportation isn't a great option either, as the bus stops are quite far and could add up in costs. I'm feeling overwhelmed and considering whether I should quit my job and look for something closer to home. I’ve received a promotion and generally enjoy my work, but the transportation issues are really stressing me out. I’ve looked into local options, like restaurants or schools, but I feel defeated. I just wish I didn’t have to give up a job I like due to these transportation challenges.
