  1. 1

I was recently laid off for the second time by the age of 24, and I'm feeling anxious about how this will affect my job search. I work in HR and just spent about 1.5 months at my latest company before being let go due to a company-wide downsizing that affected around 20% of the staff. This follows a pattern in my work history where I've had two full-time positions end in layoffs, neither of which were performance-related. To give you a brief overview of my background, I started building my HR experience during college, completing three internships at larger companies. After graduating, my work history includes: - **Company 1:** HR Specialist (Contract) - I was there for about a year and left voluntarily for a full-time HR opportunity, earning $33.50/hr. - **Company 2:** HR Support Specialist (Full-time) - I worked for about 6 months before my entire team was laid off, with a salary of $55k. - **Company 3:** HR Generalist (Contract) - I spent around 4 months here and left voluntarily after receiving a permanent offer, earning $35/hr. - **Company 4:** Permanent HR Generalist - I was really excited about this $90k role, but after just 1.5 months, I was laid off. I have a solid foundation in HR generalist work, HRIS, benefits, onboarding/offboarding, employee support, and was recently involved in a Paylocity implementation. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Data Analytics, along with my internships. My concern is how the short tenures will appear on my resume. I wonder if recruiters will see me as a job hopper, despite the legitimate reasons for my transitions. I'm also debating whether to include my most recent position on my resume since it was so brief. I gained valuable experience, but I'm unsure if it helps or hurts my chances. I would really appreciate any advice from recruiters or hiring managers on how to navigate this situation. Would my employment history raise red flags? Should I include the 1.5-month position? How should I explain the layoffs in interviews? I'm feeling pretty defeated after working hard to build my HR career.
