  1. 1

I recently discovered that my company is quietly looking for my replacement, and it feels incredibly unsettling. I overheard a coworker asking my manager about my position being listed on the internal jobs board, and I could see my manager's face shift to panic for a moment. I decided to check the job board myself, and sure enough, my role has been posted for almost a month now. This came just two weeks after I confided in my manager about my dad's cancer diagnosis and how it was affecting my work. I wanted to be transparent about my struggles, but now I can't help but wonder if that conversation triggered this decision. To make matters worse, one of the more difficult colleagues I work with is the hiring manager for my position, which makes me feel even more uncomfortable. I can't shake the feeling that others in the company are aware of this situation, and it’s hard to interact with my team without feeling that tension. The energy it takes to act normal is exhausting, and I’m struggling to stay motivated. I plan to keep pushing through for now, but I’m definitely feeling the weight of this situation. I’ll update again soon.
