I recently received a severance package after being laid off from my job where I worked for over 4 years. The package is about half a year's salary, which I’m trying to assess if it's a good deal. Throughout my time there, I didn’t receive any salary increases and even turned down a higher-paying job opportunity in the past. Now, I’m struggling to find a new job and feel like my career has taken a step back because of this role. Based on the feedback I’ve gotten from others, it seems like my severance package is favorable compared to what some have received, but I'm still uncertain if I should negotiate for more or just accept it and move on.
