I’m currently working as an event marketing manager at a startup, and I’ve been feeling overwhelmed and underappreciated for the past few months. I’ve been in this role for almost a year, but the workload has significantly increased without any change in my part-time hours. As the only person handling marketing and creative tasks, I constantly feel like I’m on call, especially with social media demanding my attention all the time. Recently, I’ve been tasked with graphic design work that’s beyond my skill set, and while I was initially eager to learn, it’s become a source of stress. I’ve been working late into the night to meet last-minute deadlines, and my boss has assured me that things will calm down soon, but I’m not convinced. To make matters worse, I’m only getting paid minimum wage, which adds to my frustration. I accepted this job because I needed a remote position and thought it would be a step up from my previous role, but now I regret that decision. I’m stuck here until I move out of the country in early February, and finding a new job in this short timeframe seems nearly impossible. I’m reaching out for advice on how to cope for the next few months. I dread receiving messages from my boss and feel anxious about my workload. I’m struggling to set boundaries and need help figuring out how to manage my stress without losing my sanity. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
