  1. 1

I recently completed the final round of interviews for a position in the medical device industry, transitioning from my previous clinical role. The interview process was intense, consisting of four back-to-back interviews with the hiring manager, a peer, and a director. They mentioned that a decision would be made by a specific date, but that date has passed over a week ago without any communication from them. I did send thank-you notes a bit late and followed up with the recruiter via email, but I haven't received any response. I'm feeling uncertain about whether this silence is a sign of rejection or if it's typical after a final round. I'm trying to remain patient and continue my job search elsewhere, but I'm curious about how long I should wait before following up again. Is it appropriate to reach out directly to the hiring manager, or should I stick to contacting the recruiter? Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.
