I’m 26 years old and have been struggling with depression for the past six years, which has severely impacted my job search and career progression. Since graduating in 2020, I’ve felt stuck and numb, often self-sabotaging my efforts to apply for jobs. I currently work alone in a small room, organizing documents all day, which feels isolating and unfulfilling. Despite being academically inclined and regarded as 'smart' in my university, I find myself comparing my situation to my peers who seem to be thriving. This year, I finally feel like I can self-regulate and function normally, but I still don’t know what I want to do for a career. I’ve developed systems to manage my time and tasks, but I struggle to translate that into actionable steps for my job search. I’m looking for insights on how to move forward and find a job that brings me joy and allows for social interaction.
