  1. 1

I graduated with my MBA and have been working in tech since February 2024. Initially, I was hired as a contractor for three months, but due to my performance, I received multiple extensions and ended up staying until December 2025, totaling about two years. I was making $130k during that time. However, due to budget cuts, they couldn't hire me full-time, so I transitioned to another position within the company that pays $105k. I've been in this role for about seven months now. While I’m grateful to have a job, I’ve realized that if I stay here, the pay increase next year will likely only be around 5%. I'm considering whether to start interviewing for new roles now or wait until December to have a full year of experience as a full-time employee. I think showing a total of 2-3 years of consistency might look better to future employers. I've had recruiters reaching out to me, which is encouraging. I'm leaning towards starting my job search now, but I'm torn on whether waiting until December would be more beneficial. Any advice would be appreciated!
