I was hired as a part-time employee at a company in Missouri about 8 months ago. Recently, due to a slowdown in business, my hours have been cut significantly. I was initially getting around 30-32 hours a week, but now I'm down to only 22-24 hours. The only way to increase my hours would be to work on weekends, which I can do occasionally, but it conflicts with my other commitments. I'm trying to figure out if I can qualify for partial unemployment benefits since my hours have been reduced, even though I'm part-time. Additionally, I'm concerned about whether my employer can retaliate against me if they find out I filed for unemployment.
