This week, I received my layoff notice after over 20 years with the company. They are offshoring my role along with others in the same position outside of India. I had a feeling this was coming but was hoping to hold on for at least another year. My severance package will cover me for about 8 or 9 months, which gives me a decent timeframe to find a new job. I've already applied for three roles and have a few more in mind, mainly in the areas of AI engagement, transformation, learning, and change management. To cope with the news, I treated myself to some pizza and took a moment to commiserate.
