  1. 1

I have been unemployed for 14 months now, and I could really use some help. With 16 years of experience and a clean record of never being fired, I have submitted around 3,000 applications and gone through 27 interviews. Despite all the effort, including countless hours spent on tests, assessments, and even doing free work, I find myself out of money and ideas. I've tried various job platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, InfoJobs, RocketHire, Handshake, and FlexJobs, and I’ve even hand-delivered my CV to businesses and directly emailed it to potential employers. I also have a professional website and platforms for freelance work, though I’m not including them here to avoid any issues with self-promotion. Recently, I revised my 'general use' CV, and I have been using eight different targeted versions, optimized for ATS and designed for in-person use, available in both English and Spanish. I just added a "current" employer to my resume since I’ve been told that not being currently employed could be hurting my chances. The work is real, though it’s not traditional employment. In my desperation, I’ve been considering some unconventional methods to get my CV in front of hiring managers, such as targeted digital ads aimed at employees of specific companies, Google AdWords targeting executives, or even creative ideas like using donut packaging that doubles as my CV for deliveries. If anyone has employed any creative methods that worked for them, I would love to hear about them!
