    Feeling Got a Job Planning Thinking

    I was terminated from my job in mid-June and was supposed to receive unemployment benefits of $145 every other week while I searched for a new position. However, I ended up getting nothing for about 3 to 4 months. It wasn't until early September that I finally secured a new job. Looking back, I wish I had called unemployment to check on the status of my benefits sooner, as I was left without any financial support during that time. I'm grateful to have found a new gig, but the experience was definitely stressful.

    I was recently let go from Dollar Tree, where I worked, due to allegations of theft. They claimed I stole money, but I never took anything unauthorized, and they even have video footage that supports my innocence. I was pressured into signing a document admitting to the allegations, which I regret. Now, I'm facing an unemployment claim that the employer is appealing, even though it seems unjust since I didn't actually take anything. I've been waiting for someone to contact me regarding the appeal process, but no one has reached out yet, even after I stayed an extra hour at work to ensure I didn't miss any calls. I'm feeling quite lost about what steps I should take next.
