I have an interview coming up for a utility/collections position that offers a significant pay increase, which would greatly improve my financial situation. I'm currently in a state/public-sector role and looking to transition to a more stable long-term career. However, the job requires obtaining a Class A CDL within 12 months, and I have a Class B CDL that I can't use due to a recent failed drug test. I'm currently navigating the return to duty process, which has really hindered my career progression. I'm unsure if I should still attend the interview given my CDL issue. I don't want to waste anyone's time or come off as a red flag, but I also believe I can obtain the Class A CDL within the required timeframe. I'm seeking advice on whether I should go to the interview and let them assess my situation, or if this would likely disqualify me automatically.
