I just finished my second day at Reeds Ferry Sheds, and I'm seriously considering quitting. I previously worked as a stocker at Walmart for about a year, which was manageable but low-paying. I thought transitioning to a laborer role at Reeds Ferry would be a great step up, especially since I took a carpentry class in high school. However, the reality of the job has been much tougher than I anticipated. The heavy lifting is brutal—I'm expected to handle loads of 60 pounds or more, and at 5'5" and 130 lbs, it's overwhelming. I’ve already got bruises on my shoulders from trying to lift properly, and I'm constantly moving heavy items without a break. After just two days, I'm in pain and feeling completely worn out. I feel guilty about the thought of quitting so soon, especially knowing that a lot of new hires leave on their first day. But I really don’t think I can handle another shift like this; I need time to recover. I’ve seen some delivery job ads that offer similar pay and seem less physically demanding, but I'm uncertain about making the leap. It’s a tough decision.
