I recently found myself in a unique situation regarding a job I had applied for a couple of months ago. I went through the entire interview process and even received an offer. However, due to an unexpected death in my family, I had to decline the offer as I needed to prioritize my family's needs during that difficult time. Now, after a couple of months of settling everything, I am back on the job market and noticed that the same position has been reposted by the company. I'm considering whether I should reach out to them again or if I’ve burned my bridges by rejecting their offer. I’m wondering if it’s worth it to reapply or if I should just focus on other opportunities I’ve already applied for. I’ve received some advice suggesting that I should reach out directly to the hiring manager, express my gratitude for their understanding, and explain that my situation has stabilized. I’m leaning towards this approach, as it feels more personal and might give me a better chance of being reconsidered for the role.
