    Applied to a Job Feeling Thinking #

    I interviewed for a position at the EPA, completing my second interview on September 25. Since then, I've been in a bit of a limbo. After not hearing back for a while, I reached out to two of my interviewers. They informed me that the recruiter is still sorting through the paperwork for the next steps, and that the hiring process is quite lengthy and complicated. They mentioned that I might hear back in a few weeks, but that was just speculation. Now, it's been about a month since my second interview, and I still haven't received an offer or any request for references. My status on USAJOBS indicates that I am tentatively eligible and have been referred to the hiring manager. I'm feeling uncertain about my chances and whether I should still hold out hope, especially since no one has contacted my references yet.
