I recently transitioned from a stressful role in a certain department where I struggled with daily problems and had a mediocre relationship with my coworkers. Now, I’m in a new department that is much less stressful and not focused on productivity, which I really enjoy, except for the occasional presentations. However, I don’t interact much with my coworkers due to the nature of my job. Recently, I heard from a reliable source that layoffs might be on the horizon. I have the option to return to my old department and position, which I’m not particularly excited about, but it would mean job security, benefits, and retaining my seniority along with accumulated vacation time. I’m at a crossroads and unsure of what to do.
