    Feeling Planning Thinking

    I had a call on August 28 where I was told there was an intention to extend an offer for a position I interviewed for, but they needed to wait for authorization. I was informed that I could expect an offer the following week. Fast forward to September 3, I received an email stating they were still waiting and that I could expect an offer next week again. I decided to follow up via email on the same day to inquire about the timing, but I haven't received any response since then. I'm starting to feel uncertain about whether I'm being ghosted or if the recruiting process is just slow. Some comments I read suggested that I might be a backup candidate, which is disheartening. I'm trying to stay positive but also keeping my options open and continuing my job search.

    Applied to a Job Feeling Planning Thinking

    I recently applied to several jobs and unexpectedly received a meeting invite for an interview on Tuesday at 1 PM. There was no prior communication or confirmation of my availability—just a calendar invite with the position details and a list of attendees, including two HR representatives and two interviewers. I responded to the invite, thanking them for the opportunity but explained that I am currently employed and would be abroad at that time. I offered multiple alternative time slots for the interview, both before and after my trip, including a day where I was available at any time. In response, I received a message asking me to let them know when I would be available for the interview, which was confusing since I had just provided several options. I reiterated my availability clearly, listing three different days and specific time windows. However, their next reply simply provided slots that didn’t match my availability, including times on a day I had already mentioned I would be traveling. There was no greeting or sign-off in their message, which felt quite impersonal. I’m hesitant to walk away since I’m already in another interview process with the same company for a different role, but this disorganization from the recruiter is concerning. I’m debating whether to keep trying to make this work or take it as a red flag and move on.

    Feeling Got a Job Thinking

    I recently had a data analytics interview where I was asked the classic "what animal would you be" question. I found it to be quite pointless and wasn't prepared for it at all. On the spot, I chose a tortoise because I thought it symbolized perseverance and the ability to reach goals, even if it takes time. After the interview, I did some research and discovered that many consider that answer to be one of the worst possible responses. Despite my concerns, I received an offer today! It just goes to show that there's always hope, even when things seem uncertain.
