I recently found myself reflecting on my career choices after returning to a job I had previously left. I had to make the tough decision to come back because my last position in snow removal was incredibly stressful and detrimental to my mental health. The pressure was overwhelming, and I needed to escape before winter hit again. Now, however, I'm realizing that my current company is just as chaotic and poorly managed. I feel like I'm the only one invested in my role, and the lack of support is frustrating. One concern I have is how my resume looks with two separate employment timelines for the same position. Job applications only allow for one start and end date, which makes it seem like I have gaps in my employment history. I'm worried that this will hurt my chances as I start looking for new opportunities again. I've read that gaps are becoming more common and that many companies are understaffed, but I still feel anxious about how my situation will be perceived. It's a tough spot to be in, and I can't help but wonder how others have navigated similar experiences.
