I’m currently 18 and in between jobs after working at Wendy’s for three years starting at 15. After graduating last year, I took a position at Kroger, thinking it would be a great opportunity, but it turned out to be the worst job I’ve ever had. I faced racist comments, rude customers, and was often lied to about my work situation. I found myself doing the work of others without any recognition or raise, which left me exhausted, so I decided to quit. Now, I have a potential job opportunity at Costco through my dad’s uncle, and I’m really hoping it works out. The job market feels incredibly tough right now, but I want to encourage anyone else in the same boat to keep applying and stay patient. I believe our opportunities will come.
