I’m currently in a tough spot after being temporarily laid off from my job in Oregon. Last week, due to staff shortages from vacations, I was asked to come in and help out. I followed the rules and accepted the work, but now I’ve run into an issue with my unemployment claim because I ended up with what they call "excess earnings." This means I have to re-appeal my unemployment benefits, which feels frustrating because it’s essentially the same process I went through when I first applied. My main concern right now is whether I will still receive my unemployment payments for this week and the next, or if I have to wait for the entire re-appeal process to be completed, which could mean missing out on two weeks of pay. I’m just trying to navigate this situation and understand what my next steps should be.
