I recently applied for a position in a research lab and decided to follow up with an email introducing myself, along with my CV attached. To my surprise, the Principal Investigator responded the same day. However, the very next day, I received a rejection email from the application software. This left me feeling quite confused about the application process. If the PI is interested in my profile, why does the automated system reject me? Despite this confusion, I have an interview scheduled for next week, so I’m trying to stay optimistic.
