I recently applied for a job at Wendy's, and I can't express how frustrating the application process was. I absolutely detest the overly long job applications that include personality assessment tests. It's ridiculous that a simple application for a fast-food position can take 30 minutes to complete, especially when the job doesn't require any specialized skills. The personality tests are the worst! I mean, who thought it was a good idea to include vague scenarios and ask if I identify as a superhero? It feels completely irrelevant to my ability to fry chicken or flip burgers. I just want to show that I can work with others and handle the tasks at hand without answering a hundred abstract questions that rate me on traits like "curious" or "lion." I also applied at Target, and that application was a nightmare. It felt like I was wasting an hour of my life on questions that had nothing to do with the job. Honestly, I was so frustrated that I thought about taking something from the store just to feel like I was reclaiming my time. All I want is a job, but these application processes make it feel impossible.
