I just found out that my current job is closing down in three weeks. My company is offering to transfer me and my coworkers to a new location 25 miles away, with a significant pay increase to help cover transportation costs. They mentioned that the new store is much larger and severely understaffed, so they really want us to make the move. However, I'm still waiting to find out the exact pay increase. The commute involves crossing a bridge, which adds toll costs, and my car is currently broken, making things more complicated. I'm aware that finding a new job will take time, and they mentioned plans to open another location closer to my home, but that won't be ready until late next year. I'm trying to weigh whether this transfer is worth it.
