I just found out that Oracle is going through another round of layoffs this September. It's become a regular occurrence, happening every other quarter now instead of just once a year. I was looking forward to a nice summer, but it feels like the joy is overshadowed by the anxiety of job security. Instead of the usual 1:1 meetings with my manager to discuss performance, we now just receive a cold email notification at 6am announcing our termination. It’s disheartening to think that this could happen right before the holiday season. I’m feeling a mix of frustration and uncertainty as I brace myself for what’s next.
