I got laid off yesterday from my position as a logistics coordinator at a 3PL where I had been working for the last 4 months. They offered me 2 weeks of severance, and I plan to apply for unemployment once my Record of Employment (ROE) is updated. Right now, I'm feeling really lost and in shock. My manager suggested I use them as a reference for future applications, but it's hard to think about that when I'm still processing everything. I had already planned for my wedding this October, and as an immigrant from Bangladesh living in Canada, I was looking forward to going back home for the celebration. I had saved up some money for the wedding, but now I have to use those funds just to get by. It took me a long time to find this job after graduating, and the emotional impact of losing it is weighing heavily on me.
